Microwave Turntable Not Spinning
Likely causes

The short answer: this is one of the simplest microwave repairs. The plastic drive coupler under the tray wears out before the motor does.

What usually causes it
- Worn drive coupler. The small plastic piece under the tray.
- Failed turntable motor. The motor no longer rotates the tray.
- Roller ring off track. The tray catches or sticks.
- Debris in the track. Food blocks the rollers.
- Tray misseated. The tray isn’t on the hub.
What you can check yourself
- Reseat the tray. Lift out the tray and roller ring and set them back, with the tray on the center hub.
- Clean the track. Remove food and grease from the bottom of the cavity.
- Look at the coupler. If the small plastic piece in the center is worn or cracked, that’s likely the cause.
- Check the setting. Some models have a turntable on/off button.
