What causes it
Household power was interrupted mid-cycle; usually clears on its own.
What it means in practice
This isn't a fault. The dryer lost power during a cycle and is letting you know. A brief outage, a tripped breaker or a loose plug is the usual reason.
What to check before calling
- ✓This just logs that power was interrupted — press Start to resume or restart the cycle.
- ✓No action needed if clothes are drying normally afterward.
- ✓Press Start to resume, or press the Stop/Cancel button to clear the message.
- ✓Check that the plug is firmly in the outlet.
When to call a technician
If PF keeps appearing without outages, check the breaker and outlet, and call if it continues.
If those checks don't clear the PF code, it's usually a sign of a failed part rather than something to keep resetting. A technician runs a full diagnostic on your dryer, confirms the cause, and quotes the repair before any work starts.
