Water fill/inlet error
What causes it
Water supply valve closed, or a faulty inlet valve.
What it means in practice
The washer isn't getting water, or isn't getting it fast enough. Usually a closed valve or a clogged hose screen is behind it.
What to check before calling
- ✓Confirm the water supply valves are open.
- ✓Check for kinked or frozen supply lines.
- ✓Make sure both supply taps are fully open and hoses are straight.
- ✓Clean the inlet screens at the back of the washer.
When to call a technician
If IE continues, the water inlet valve may have failed.
If those checks don't clear the IE code, it's usually a sign of a failed part rather than something to keep resetting. A technician runs a full diagnostic on your washer, confirms the cause, and quotes the repair before any work starts.
