LG · Washer
UE
Unbalanced load
What causes it
Load redistribution needed; recurring UE can mean worn suspension.
What it means in practice
The washer couldn't balance the load, so it pauses to redistribute the clothes. A single heavy item is the usual reason, and the machine often fixes itself with a retry.
What to check before calling
- ✓Redistribute the load evenly and restart.
- ✓If it happens on every cycle, the load may be too small — add another item or two.
- ✓Open the door and rearrange the load so the weight is even.
- ✓Make sure the washer is level, since a rocking machine makes balancing harder.
When to call a technician
If UE repeats with small, even loads, worn suspension or shock dampers are likely.
If those checks don't clear the UE code, it's usually a sign of a failed part rather than something to keep resetting. A technician runs a full diagnostic on your washer, confirms the cause, and quotes the repair before any work starts. The $89 service call is waived if you go ahead with the repair, and parts and labor are covered by our 90-day warranty on parts & labor.
Common question
Why does my LG washer keep stopping with UE?
Bulky items and uneven loads are the usual cause. If it happens with normal loads too, the suspension may be worn and should be checked.
Still showing UE?
Same-day diagnosis and repair across Las Vegas, Henderson, and Summerlin. $89 service call, waived with repair.
