What it means in practice
The washer can't drain fast enough, so it stops. A clogged pump filter or a kinked hose causes most of these, and cleaning them usually clears the code.
What to check before calling
- ✓Clean the drain pump filter (usually behind a small door at the bottom front).
- ✓Check the drain hose for kinks or clogs.
- ✓Open the pump filter cover at the bottom front and clear debris, using a pan and towels for the water.
- ✓Check the drain hose for kinks and make sure it isn't crushed behind the washer.
When to call a technician
If the filter and hose are clear, the drain pump may have failed.
